What is a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge is a custom-made solution for replacing missing teeth that securely attaches to neighboring teeth. Unlike removable dentures, dental bridges do not need to be removed for cleaning. They are durable, natural-looking, long-lasting, and do not need to be replaced frequently.

Why Would a Dental Bridge Be Needed?

There are several reasons why someone may need a dental bridge, with tooth loss being a common one. If you are looking to avoid implant surgery or are not eligible for it, a dental bridge can be a great alternative to restore your smile and improve how your teeth function. Additionally, having a bridge can help prevent neighboring teeth from shifting or becoming overcrowded.

Who's a good candidate for All-on-4 Implants?

Before proceeding with All-on-4 implants, patients must have enough bone mass for successful bonding. If there is bone loss, a bone grafting procedure may be recommended prior to implant surgery. Your health and medical history will be evaluated to ensure a successful procedure and healing process.

Who is a candidate for a Dental Bridge?

We will assess your teeth to see if a fixed bridge is suitable for you. The bridge will be attached to two adjacent teeth for a secure fit. If a larger bridge is needed, we may suggest using implants for extra support to ensure stability.

What happens during the Dental Bridge Procedure?

If you are considering getting a dental bridge, the process will begin with numbing your mouth with a local anesthetic. The surrounding teeth will then be shaped and filed down to make space for the new bridge. Impressions will be taken to create both a temporary and permanent bridge. Initially, you will receive the temporary bridge and return for a second appointment to receive the permanent one.

During your next visit, the temporary bridge will be removed and the permanent one will be securely placed using dental adhesive. We will then polish and adjust the bridge and provide you with instructions on how to properly care for it.
